Well known by it’s unmistakable skyline Frankfurt is also being calles “Mainhattan” or “Bankfurt” because it’s numerous international banks. Frankfurt with its 650.000 inhabitants is a city with many contrasts. Cosy looking old-style buildings and ultra-modern glass and chrome palaces, small secluded cafes and stylish restaurants with international cuisine make Frankfurt a much loved metropolis where everybody will find what he is looking for.

This exclusive spa-town known for its healthy air and international flair is situated about 22km to the North of Frankfurt at the gentle slopes of the Taunus and offers about 52.000 citizens numerous hiking and other possible leisure time activities, extensive cultural offers and an excellent infrastructure. StrollingA visit at the world-famous gambling casino, also known as the “mother of Monte Carlo” is for all visitors an impressive experience.

Located to the North of Frankfurt and at the foot of the recreational areas of the mountainous region of the Taunus, Oberursel offers numerous and varied cultural and leisure time activities. Here you also find some of the well known international schools, such as the Frankfurt International School (FIS) and the Taunus International Montessori School e.V. (TIMS). This means that you will connect with a large international community where also many guests from foreign countries have found their new home.

Situated at the slopes of  the mountainous region of the Taunus, Bad Soden is about 15km North-West of Frankfurt am Main and approx. 20km North-East of Wiesbaden. With its 23.000 citizens it is well known for its health spending warm water wells, the extensive cultural offers and the very good infrastructure. Here you have both, the close proximity to Frankfurt Airport ideal for frequent travellers and a small quiet town surrounded by fields and forests.

Surrounded by the lovely Taunus this attractive city has many places of interest to offer as well as a historical town centre. Colourful markets and exciting festivals with contests between knights in historical costumes take place every year in the medieval castle. The world renowned and today known as Schlosshotel Kronberg was built by Princess Victoria, oldest daughter of the British Queen Victoria and wife of Kaiser Friedrich in 1889-94 and named Schloss Friedrichshof. Kronberg is with its 18.000 citizens a very good infrastructure and is about 17km to the North West of Frankfurt.

This dynamic city is about 10km North West of Frankfurt and with its excellent infrastructure offers the approx. 20.000 inhabitants many advantages, such as the Frankfurt International Airport right at its doorstep. Large international companies in modern office towers have settled here and add to the city’s big wealth. In charming contrast to this is the historical old city centre with many old-style buildings, typical German restaurants and beer gardens, ideal on hot summer days.

The State Capital of Hesse, Wiesbaden was already been well known for its warm water healing wells by the Romans and also today many people from all around the world come here to experience relief from pain. An elegant gambling casino, excellent restaurants, fantastic shopping facilities, international schools and exclusive living areas make this a much favoured city to live in. Wiesbaden is situated on the river Rhine, about 30 km to the West of Frankfurt and is also called the “Gate to the Rheingau”, a well known wine-growing-area and famous for its many old castles.

Situated to the South of Frankfurt Neu-Isenburg was only founded about 300 years ago by Huguenots who came from France and thanks to its close proximity to Frankfurt (about 8 km) and the Frankfurt Airport (about 12 km) is today a thriving small town of 38.000 inhabitants, where many international companies have settled. The very good infrastructure, the well preserved historical city centre with market place, many traditional Ebbelwoi Pubs, all types of schools and a newly renovated shopping centre make this to a favoured place to live in.

A little bit further to the South of Frankfurt (about 12km) is the city of Dreieich with its historical castle, cosy old part of town with nice restaurants and cafes - here you find many old style half-timbered houses and modern architecture. Due to the close proximity to Frankfurt and the Airport Dreieich is an excellent location for international companies and also a much liked town to live in for commuters to Frankfurt or Airport.

The Rhine-Main-Area has an excellent public transport system with Underground, Stassenbahn, Bus and trains. On the homepage you can find out all connections and departure times. Weekly, monthly and yearly tickets are available as well as special tickets for students, elderly people etc. and visitors. Issued at most of the stations (i.e. Hauptbahnhof, Südbahnhof) and also at the Hauptwache on showing a valid ID-Card.

Der Rhein-Main-Flughafen is one of the most important and biggest turnstiles in the world with many daily flights to all continents. Because of the much discussed further development of the airport with many extension the economical stability of the region is guaranteed and the Airport Authority is one of the biggest and most secure employers in the region.
